Since 2004, NRC has demonstrated a regional competence and expertise in working with displaced and refugee populations. NRC has mainly focused on Somalis who are displaced by the ongoing conflict and more recently by the drought and famine. The Regional Office is based in Nairobi, Kenya with offices and operations in Somalia (Puntland, Somaliland and Mogadishu), Kenya (Dadaab and Molo) and Ethiopia (Addis Ababa and Dolo Ado).

The internship is a learning-cum-working opportunity that targets graduates both fresh and those already in the job market. The intern will be attached to the NRC Nairobi office in teh ICT Unit for a period of 12 months to assist in basic duties that are needed. The intern will be exposed to practical learning-cum-working experiences that foster development of their career path. The Intern will work full time and follow the same working hours as NRC employees. .Upon completion of the internship, the intern may be requested to generate a full report on their internship program as well as fill out an exit questionnaire .

NRC does not guarantee interns employment at the end of the internship period.

He/she is expected to provide supportive supervision and technical assistance to project teams and partners in strategic planning and development; ensure production of timely and quality project progress reports; support in designing and implementation of baseline surveys and assessments, mid-term and end of project evaluation; quality assurance; and identify gaps and make recommendations for improvement.
The M&E Officer has functional links to HI’s Quality and Monitoring Development Coordinator.
